Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on International Yoga Day, emphasizing the global significance of yoga as a force for good. Originally scheduled to speak on the banks of Dal Lake, the event was relocated indoors due to persistent rain.

In a 30-minute session, the Prime Minister is now performing yoga. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” highlights yoga’s essential role in promoting both personal well-being and social harmony.

Over the years, PM Modi has led Yoga Day celebrations at various notable locations, including Delhi’s Kartavya Path, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, and Jabalpur. Last year, he led the event at the UN Headquarters in New York, drawing significant attention to this year’s programme in Srinagar.
