Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, held its elections in a single phase on May 7. Known as a stronghold of the BJP, exit polls have once again forecasted a decisive victory for the saffron party.
In both the 2019 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress did not secure any of the 26 seats in Gujarat. This year, the Congress contested the elections in alliance with the AAP.
