Ahmedabad: Civic Body Seeks Consultants for Kankaria Zoo Aviary Design
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is inviting consultants to design an aviary as part of the expansion plan for Kankaria Zoo. This initiative aims to create a natural habitat for a wider variety of birds, according to AMC officials.
“Landscape design will be crucial, seamlessly integrating water features, walkways, and planting beds to create a natural environment for both birds and visitors,” an official stated.
The aviary’s centerpiece will feature a series of interconnected domes, each over 25 feet high. These segmented structures will provide designated spaces for water birds, ground birds, raptors, and high-flying species, incorporating special nesting areas and landing perches, as detailed in the Request for Proposal (RFP) released on June 26.
