NEET PG 2024 Exam to be Conducted at 500 Centers Nationwide on August 11, Amid Heightened Security Measures

The NEET PG 2024 exam is set to be conducted on August 11, but with significant changes in its organization. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that the number of test centers has been reduced to 500 from the usual 1,200. This decision was taken as a precautionary measure to enhance vigilance and reduce the possibility of malpractices.

The exam will be conducted online in two shifts, with different papers for each shift. To accommodate candidates, most have been assigned test centers within their own cities, minimizing the need for long-distance travel. The NBEMS, along with its technical partner TCS, is overseeing the organization of this examination, which has already faced several challenges, including a prior postponement from its original June 23, 2024 date.

In a related legal development, the Supreme Court of India is scheduled to hear a plea on August 9, seeking the postponement of the NEET PG exam due to concerns about the allocation of test centers. The plea argues that some candidates have been assigned centers in cities that are difficult to reach on short notice, making travel arrangements challenging.
Despite these hurdles, the examination is moving forward as planned, with authorities focused on maintaining the integrity and fairness of the process.
